"Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were--Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and Peter."
--from The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter
Welcome to Liza 7th Grade ELA!Vividly I can remember the first book I was able to read on my own, Peter Rabbit. My mother checked the book out for me from the church library and I sat on the green corduroy couch at my grandparent's house and I began to read. Perhaps I had it memorized from previous readings with my mom, but I truly remember making a connection with the words and the words with the pictures. The story came alive as Peter Rabbit ran from Farmer McGregor and Peter's little blue jacket became caught on the fence. Peter escaped and I have ever since been hooked on the stories and worlds that come jump off the pages of books, magazines, and newspapers.
It is with great joy that I am blessed to be the 7th grade Language Arts teacher at Liza Jackson Preparatory School. |

Summer Reading
2022 Summer Reading Handout for LJPS 7th Grade Students
Where did your reading take you this summer? So far I have been to the fictional town of Bois Sauvage, Mississippi in Savage the Bones, around the United States in Mrs. Kennedy and Me, and searching for survival in the streets of Kabul, Afghanistan in The Dressmaker of Khair Khana. Next up I will journey to 1856's Buckingham Palace in Prisoners in the Palace. It is amazing where reading can take you!
A Little View of Kindness - Thought this was fun - Enjoy!
